one of the saddest days of my life I must inform you of the passing
of my dearest friend, my mentor and hero. Don slipped quietly
away from us at 11:36pm Tuesday night, March 15, at his home in Monarch
Beach, California. Trudy was at his side. They celebrated
their 46th wedding anniversary on
Don had fought a valiant battle against chronic lymphocytic leukemia since 1992, and had recently been treated for lymphoma. He was suffering from a lung infection, but was not hospitalized and his death came as a shock. Trudy said he died peacefully in his sleep.
A memorial service celebrating his life, with family, friends and fans was held June 15. Donations may be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the Chapman University School of Film and Television.
I'm sure I speak for all Don's friends and fans as we share our sorrow. He left a big hole in the universe when he departed. May God hold his precious family: wife Trudy, daughter Heidi, son Jeff and their families close in His loving embrace.
